TACLOBAN CITY, LEYTE – NAPOLCOM Regional Office 8 personnel participated in the Orientation and Training on Drone Operation and Surveying on November 17, 2021.

PSSg Edward Villablanca Cinco of the Information Technology Service of the Police Regional Office 8 explained the drone’s control systems and its various components with their corresponding functions. He stressed the importance of properly maintaining and storing drones to maximize their use and service life as well as the various scenarios to keep in mind while operating them.

To better appreciate this machine, selected personnel of the Regional Office experienced first-hand how to operate and fly a drone at the McArthur Park, Palo Leyte. Basic commands such as take-off, landing, return to home, recording and capturing still images were performed.

The training is among the Office’s initiatives to improve service delivery to its clients and stakeholders. And taking advantage of this technology, the drone will be utilized to assess the compliance of police stations and units with the infrastructure standards set by the Commission, among other purposes.
